Impala 28 OOD 2009 European Championship

To be held within IRC Class 3 during Torbay Week

This year's Championships will be held from 22 August to 25 August 2009 within Torbay Week.

Torbay Week is organised by the combined Yacht and Sailing Clubs of Torbay, which are the Royal Torbay Yacht Club, Brixham Yacht Club, Paignton Sailing Club and Babbacombe Sailing Club.

The event runs from the Friday to the Wednesday. The main Championship series is over four days, with two races a day on Saturday and Sunday, three on Monday and two on Tuesday. The Championship racing takes place on a variety of courses.

The Impala Championship will be held within IRC 3. (Impalas without an IRC Certificate will be able to enter in this class.)

The cost of the event will be £70 if yachts pay before 24 July. After this date the cost goes up to £105.

Berthing on the council-owned pontoons in Torquay and Brixham is free of charge from noon on Friday 20 to noon on Thursday 27 August 2009.

The plan would be for the Impalas to be berthed at Brixham and raft up together.

This year's Torbay Week will also be hosting the South-West IRC Championships.
