Folks,
Having recently bought an Impala, I now need a cradle ready for lifting her out in the Autumn. Anything considered (including a road trailer). Please contact me on:
01243-374211 (home, with answer machine).
Thanks,
Martin

Jiminy Cricket has been sold back in May, and was towed down to the land of milk and honey ie (Pembrokeshire) to try and compete with some meanly sailed Impala's down here, 5 now in total, bit of a learning curve after an Achilles 24 and Super Seal 26 but we are starting to snap at some transoms now, they are fantastically responsive boats to sail, basically a 28ft dinghy and we are thoroughly enjoying it. The boat is now owned by Trevor Skippins and myself John Williams.

Good stuff, Martin. You've got one of the best-named boats there, although I've always thought that plain 'Vlad' might have been smarter yet! Smiley

I have now sourced a new (to me) Impala. "Vlad the Impala" has moved from her old home of Cork and is now based in Chichester Harbour.

Hi Paul

Glad to hear that works progressing, I remember the cold wet days at Ballyholme doing the same things!!  I have great affection for the impala as a boat and wouldn't rule out another 'project', however my problem was getting crew with enough time and commitment.  It had become expensive for between 8 and 10 sails per boat.  Did some sailing with Andrew Kennedy in Rowena last autumn series up her and we managed to win a couple of races.  So happy to sail on any boat anywhere any time.  Good luck for the new season and welcome to the committee!! I'll sort you out the details of the Irish boats and email over.
