Please note that, in line with a recent Committee decision, access to most of this Forum will be restricted to Impala 28 Class Association members only from 1st April 2008.

While some parts will remain publicly readable (including the 'Sales, Swaps and Crew' board), only registered Association Members (NB not synonymous with current *Forum* members!) will be able to post directly and non-members will be charged a small fee to advertise boats for sale.

Access to the rest of the site as it currently stands remains unaffected by this decision, but some further 'member' areas (including much of the 'Archive' section) are also under development.

Since posting is about to become an Association membership benefit and we've already had one spammer (now banned and deleted) registering in March, I've just changed the registration procedure from 'Member Activation' to 'Member Approval'. Nothing to worry about for legitimate Impala 28 Class Association members, but please understand that new registrations can no longer go through instantly this way.

If registering for the Forum now, please also email secretary@impala28.info with real name and boat details so I can check you against the current Association membership list before approving your registration.

Likewise, please tell me who you are if you're already both a Forum member and 2008 Association member, because it's not always obvious (not everyone uses their real names!).

The Forum has now been reconfigured as announced above.

The following boards should now only be accessible through the new Association Members area:

• Class Association and General Topics
• Races, Regattas, Results and Reports

The following boards form the new Public Boards category and should now be read-only to non-members:

• Sales, Swaps and Crew
• Troubleshooting and Suggestions

If you're a paid-up Association Member and can't access the new restricted area, it's possible that:

• You haven't registered for the Forum.
• Your registration is still awaiting approval.
• We don't know your Forum username.
• You've forgotten to log in.
• There is some other spanner in the works!

Please email secretary@impala28.info if you have lost access/permissions as a *current* Association Member or require such for the first time and we'll try to get things sorted ASAP.

Please note that if you fall into the above category, you need to:

1. Be registered or register on the Forum.
2. Tell the Secretary (secretary@impala28.info) who you are and what your username (if not your own name) is.

So there have been some (Forum) members waiting for approval for some time, but *none* of those currently still waiting has contacted me with this information and I simply can't approve your membership if I don't know exactly who you are!

Don't know why I felt the need to start a new topic about this (see above reply, now merged here) when there were already three posts to this one (from March, April and June) explaining what to do, but I'm afraid folk still seem to be registering as non-Members and/or expecting things to happen by magic. So please read carefully before registering for the Forum, and let me know if you're a current Association Member awaiting Forum membership approval.

Just deleted all (12) remaining 'members awaiting approval' because:
1. None of them are Association Members.
2. None of them have contacted me to explain who they are.
3. The last two (last night) have bouncing mail.ru addresses.

So please get real, folks (if you mail.ru people aren't just bots!), contact me if you're a bona fide member, and leave it if you're not.
